Our adventure begins Thursday September 3rd at 5:45pm, with Thursday Blues Practice. Every week we vote on the topic for next week’s class! It’s always beginner friendly and accessible. We’ll break for dinner and afterwards head to the Blues Jam at Tip Top Cafe.
Then on Friday afternoon we’ll take a field trip to see the sights and grab a snack at Lowe Mill Arts and Entertainment.. After dinner we’ll offer a Beginner Friendly Ballroomin’ Lesson by the Wilkersons, and Live Music by Flying on Instruments! Traditionally a jazz band, they’ve been working on a jazz blues set just for us.
Saturday we’re choosing our own adventure with 4 classes, chosen by us, taught by The Legendary Legenthals! Plus a visit to the State Black Archives, Research Center, and Museum. In the evening, we’ll enjoy Live Music with Moon Rhythm Blues and a late night DJ. Moon Rhythm Blues is a brand new blues band headed up by Jeffrey Carroll. An offshoot of Moondust Big Band, they'll be bringing years of experience playing for dancers, and exciting new blues arrangements to fit a variety of blues styles.
On Sunday we gather for Blues, Brunch, and Boardgames. Bring a side dish, and we'll provide pancakes and eggs. There will be opportunities to schedule private lessons throughout Sunday afternoon. And for those of us who truly thirst for adventure, we’ll embark on a voyage to The Space and Rocket Center. More details coming soon!
